fish'n'chips on the beach

These pictures are of the last of our weekly fish'n'chips on Oxley Beach after 5pm Saturday church. (Until next summer, anyway!) Daylight saving is over now so it's too dark. You can see that the shortening of the days was threatening it even with the extra hour.

It's been a lovely ritual. We've discovered the best fish'n'chips in town and Oxley Beach is such a beautiful location. It beats a Westfield foodcourt any day!

Hi Rachel,
I hope you are having a great week - only 4 days to holidays!!!
I think that fish and chips at the beach is one of the best meals ever.
Jenny
Victor's Pad Thai after Thommos at 5 this week was excellent, tho'.Bishop was here, for a week, and Syl came too.
Looks amazing - westfield foodcourts is such a tradition though, such a variety of food to choose from! but could probably come around to f+c on the beach!
That bloody Esky is ancient!
do the fish looked grilled?
I recently cleaned that old Esky, using the Anne Isherwood bleach method, and it's sparkling white (tho a bit on the nose).Yes, fish are grilled, and D and I have no fatty chips, but a bucket of coleslaw. Virtuous, eh?
Rachel I sent you an invitation. Please check your emails.

I came to fish and chips on the beach with you ... it seems so long ago - it's lovely seeing these pics - brings back memories of our time with you ... however in just 8 more months.......................................(and we get a summer in between, too!!! Who needs winter? NOT ME!)
You've done well missing winters Megs - I'm looking forward to Aussie summer in December - YAY, bring it on!
is coleslaw much healthier than chips?
The chips are so delicious that I don't need to think about anything more than the taste.
It will be great to have f+c on the beach again with the Adys and S&B with us. How fun!
Yes, Sam, the esky is ancient (and the lid still doesn't fit properly) but it does the job of keeping the wine cask cool...
Coleslaw has the virtue of not being fried in fat.
unless you're in edinburgh where they probably deep fry coleslaw!
