Wauchope Show

Victor and I went to the Wauchope Show on Friday. It's a dinky little show - not much to see or do - but Victor managed to make some friends. And not only of the feathered variety.
(He also bought me 2 beautiful camellia trees!)

It was good fun to watch the showjumping, pat the cows (something Victor's never done before), eat fairy-floss, view the large pumpkins and roses, and have a go on the clowns (something else Victor had never done before).

Victor and I had a lovely day on Thursday meeting up with the Mahers at Nambucca Heads. It was Zoe's 4th birthday so we had a beautiful butterfly cake to celebrate.


After tea and cake by the river we went to the Bookshop Cafe for lunch - what yummy food!

And what great company!




Then to one of the lookouts on the headland before driving home.

Mum and Dad have gone now for their 4 week holiday at the farm. So I'm home alone! (Though 3 geriatric animals make sure I've got plenty to do...)







Watching Dad and Victor tie up the trailer was very entertaining. ("Pull, Victor, pull!") Under that tarpaulin is the bunk bed that I shared with Sylvia for many years growing up, a box of brass door knobs, window frame, and our Christmas tree!

What are the Laws of nature?

To me perhaps the rising of One from the dead were no violation

of these Laws, but a confirmation;

were some far deeper Law, now first penetrated into,

and by Spiritual Force (even as the rest have all been)

brought to bear on us with its Material Force.

Heritage Primary Choir

As part of my job teaching Music at Heritage Christian School I have started a choir.

This last week I took them to one of the Nursing Homes here in PMQ to sing during their monthly communion service. The kids were fantastic! They far exceeded my expectations in both performance standard and behaviour. It's really nice to end the term on such a positive note.

These pictures aren't very clear, but they give you the idea. (I'm on the left at the piano in the first picture.)

fish'n'chips on the beach

These pictures are of the last of our weekly fish'n'chips on Oxley Beach after 5pm Saturday church. (Until next summer, anyway!) Daylight saving is over now so it's too dark. You can see that the shortening of the days was threatening it even with the extra hour.

It's been a lovely ritual. We've discovered the best fish'n'chips in town and Oxley Beach is such a beautiful location. It beats a Westfield foodcourt any day!
